My original sketch was changed after the Stair: Concept Model submission as I felt the design didn't properly reflect my chosen clients and descriptive words, and didn't connect well with the submitted stair.
original sketch; ABOVE: delicate, BELOW: box
I believe this new design better encapsulates the chosen words "delicate" and "box". It also speaks to the practices of the two clients through the use of metal and wood, and reflects their works that I have decided to base the design on. The main structure of the building is a series of boxes joined together to create one singular mass. Constructed over the building is a lightweight, delicate sculptural frame made of timber, with metal reinforcements.

The allocation of studios in the new design has not changed, with Mountain & Moon occupying the above-ground studio, and Trent Jansen Studio occupying the below-ground.
